Dr. Bradshaw joined Centra Health in 2015. With a focus and specialization in child psychiatric assessment and treatment, she is the psychologist assigned to Bridges Residential and Centra’s Autism and Developmental Services Program (CADS). Dr. Bradshaw has expertise in assessing child psychiatric and developmental disorders, particularly in working with individuals with symptoms of autism which often are misdiagnosed or missed. She has sought specialized training and continuously works to understand the specific nuances of assessment of biological females with autism. Her focus in her current role is on child psychiatric assessment and treatment of neurodiverse individuals. Dr. Bradshaw enjoys learning and expanding her understanding of neurodiversity and affirming care models and continues to seek opportunities to further specialize in assessment and treatment for neurodiverse clients, with focus on the intersection of neurodiversity and LGBTQ identities. Dr. Bradshaw recently authored a book chapter focused on differential diagnosis of Disruptive Mood disorders.
Dr. Bradshaw has served as a member of several internal work groups at Centra and has been the Chair for the Education and Collaboration teams, working to provide ongoing training for the multi-disciplinary staff at CADS. She collaborates with area agencies and has organized training opportunities with outside agencies and for other departments within Centra. Dr. Bradshaw developed a practicum training program for graduate students in psychology in 2022 in an effort to increase the number of providers able to assess and treat neurodiverse individuals in the Lynchburg area. As the practicum training opportunities were realized, Dr. Bradshaw initiated the development of the Centra Doctoral Internship Program (CDPI). Having a strong drive to contribute to the field through a training model, she has developed this internship program with the support of Centra’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health leadership. In addition to serving as the CDPI Training Director, Dr. Bradshaw is also a primary intern supervisor, provides group supervision and leads didactic trainings on a variety of topics.
