Centra is proud to announce its partnership with Sevaro, a leading provider of telemedicine services, to deliver exceptional stroke care in its emergency rooms and inpatient facilities. This groundbreaking collaboration aims to address the national shortage of neurologists specializing in emergency stroke treatment, particularly in rural areas.
With Sevaro’s precise cameras, neurologists in other locations are able to conduct full emergency neurological assessments who are experiencing stroke symptoms and seeking care at a Centra facility.
Traditional telemedicine services for stroke care often involve call centers that may delay the connection between hospitals and neurologists. In contrast, Sevaro's OneCall™ service allows Centra's providers and nurses to directly reach the neurologist on call with one centralized number. Calls are guaranteed to be answered within 45 seconds, with an average response time of just 18 seconds last year.
Time is critical in stroke care, as an average of two million brain cells die per minute during a stroke. Sevaro's innovative technology enables Centra to respond rapidly and effectively to stroke emergencies, ensuring patients receive the urgent care they need.
Centra serves multiple rural areas, and this partnership ensures that even patients in remote locations will receive treatment from neurologists who have worked at leading stroke care institutions in the United States.
