The Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center is proud to host its annual Trees of Hope event, a cherished tradition that brings the warmth of the Christmas season to cancer patients, their families and Caregivers. On November 17, the halls of the cancer center will be filled with a variety of Christmas trees, wreaths and table centerpieces that are decorated and donated by local businesses, faith communities, civic clubs and individuals.
Beginning Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the cancer center will be open to the public (closed weekends, Thanksgiving and Black Friday) for community members to view and bid on the trees. Bidding is conducted virtually through an online auction platform, but QR codes will be placed throughout the building that visitors can scan to access the auction site. Bidding will end at noon on Thursday, December 14.
This year, Centra is excited to introduce a new addition to the celebration—a Tree of Hope at Centra Southside Community Hospital, extending the reach of holiday joy. This special tree will be filled with sponsored ornaments and displayed from Monday, November 20 to Thursday, December 23 at the hospital.
All proceeds from Trees of Hope go towards the Centra Cancer Fund which benefits the patients, Caregivers and communities served by the Centra Oncology Service Line.
