Centra offers comprehensive pediatric services by highly trained and educated pediatric providers that are focused on family-centered care because we recognize that when a child becomes ill, it affects the entire family.

Pediatric Specialty Clinic

The Pediatric Specialty Center provides pediatric services related to genetics, pulmonary, allergy & asthma, endocrinology and neurodevelopment.

Neonatal ICU (NICU)

The Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery at Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital provides care for ill and premature infants 24 hours a day.

Developmental Pediatrics

Centra's Developmental Pediatrics Service provides evaluation and follow-up of developmentally at-risk or delayed infants and children.

Maternity Services

At Centra, we look at each birth as a miracle and every baby as unique. We encourage a family-centered approach to childbirth where patients are supported through every step of the birthing process through shared decision making and evidence based practice.

Autism & Developmental Services

Centra's Autism & Developmental Services is dedicated to helping each individual with autism and other developmental disorders reach their full potential.

Our areas of care

Pediatric Center at LGH

Our children deserve the best care we can give. At Centra, we know nothing is more important to you than your child. Our experienced teams of pediatric physicians and nurses work with families to deal with juvenile diabetes, asthma, sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis and other diagnoses.

Pediatric Emergency Care

Centra's Emergency Department (ED), located at Lynchburg General Hospital, contains an eight-bed Pediatric Pod that is designed specifically for treating pediatric emergencies. To make the unit child friendly, the rooms include brightly-painted walls and large murals of Virginia wildlife in addition to containing the equipment and supplies needed to treat pediatric patients.

Pediatric Specialty Center

Centra's Pediatric Specialty Center, in affiliation with the University of Virginia Medical Center, provides pediatric services related to genetics, pulmonary, allergy & asthma, endocrinology and neurodevelopment.

Developmental Pediatrics

Centra's Developmental Pediatrics Service provides evaluation and follow-up of developmentally at-risk or delayed infants and children. Our outpatient services, housed in the Autism and Developmental Pediatrics Center, help children with learning and behavioral problems and support parents and children as they develop.
