Critical Care

Centra's Intensive Care Units (ICUs) are units within the hospital that are designed to care for patients whose inuries or illnesses are very serious and can sometimes present a threat to their lives.
Nurse and hospital Caregivers work diligently to help a critical care patient.

Our approach to care

Patients with serious injuries require more intense monitoring and observation provided by teams of specially trained and highly skilled critical-care doctors, nurses, therapists, and pharmacists, among many others.  The ICU care team is passionate about providing excellent care for our patients and are available to answer questions and address concerns.

ECMO Program

Here at Centra, we offer adult ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) therapy to patients who need more advanced support than other critical care modalities can offer. ECMO therapy uses a specific machine to increase oxygen supply and deliver it to the body. In doing so, the specialized machine replaces the function of the heart and/or lungs temporarily. While ECMO therapy does not treat the underlying issue, it provides necessary support for the body. Specially trained clinicians manage the patient’s condition while giving the body time to heal. The Centra ECMO team will be here to support your loved one and family members during your stay.

Meet our team

Centra's team of Caregivers is dedicated to providing the most advanced, personalized care.

Visitation

We believe families play a vital role in our patients healing process. We encourage visitors to come to the ICU during daylight hours to encourage rest after hours.

Visitors to the ICU are encouraged to bring in patients’ personal items to aid in healing. Please check with the ICU care team for appropriate items to bring.

Visitation Policy

Caring for a loved one begins with caring for oneself. As a resource to our patients and families we have spiritual care services available, as well as social workers and therapists.
