Our approach to care
For over 40 years, Lynchburg Family Medicine has played a pivotal role in the health and well-being of Central Virginia. As Centra’s oldest practice, we enjoy the reputation of building a broad base of patients of all ages and backgrounds. Our mission of “Educating Family Physicians through Excellent Patient Care” reflects our dual role of providing a medical home for continuous health care while developing the clinical skills of resident physicians and preparing them for health care.
Our health experts have an emphasis on the following:
- Primary care of all age groups
- Pre-natal, delivery and postpartum care
- On-site OB/GYN ultrasound
- Immunizations including flu shots and pneumonia shots
- Wellness and prevention
- Disease management (High blood pressure, diabetes, etc.)
- Geriatric care
- Women’s health, including gynecological exams and birth control
- Counseling services for all ages
- On-site laboratory
- On-site radiology
- Treatment of minor injuries and illnesses
- Removal of small lesions
- Medicare wellness
- Transitional care
- Minor lacerations and surgical procedures
