Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

TMS

Our approach

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an innovative, FDA-approved therapy for the treatment of Major Depression in adult patients who have failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from antidepressant medication.

Treatment plans are typically established for 36 treatments. Appointments are 5 days/week. Treatment session times will vary by patient, but typically last 18 minutes. They are scheduled after the initial evaluation is complete.

Our TMS experts provide an outpatient procedure that is:

  • Since 2008, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) has been FDA-approved for the management of treatment-resistant depression.
  • TMS treatment is a non-invasive, outpatient procedure, meaning there is no surgery, down-time, or recovery period.
  • Unlike ECT, which uses electric current to induce seizure activity, TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate targeted areas of the brain.
  • TMS therapy is covered by most insurances. We will complete a request for prior authorization before services begin so you know exactly what is covered.
  • TMS is a drug-free option to manage treatment-resistant depression.

Medication-resistant depression shouldn’t hold you back.
